California Gov. Jerry Brown officially declared Sunday (10/16/2011) Steve Jobs Day in California, and Apple is holding an invitation-only memorial event for Steve Jobs at Stanford University. To commemorate Steve Jobs Day, I found a video I think he would have liked. Of the dozens …

Steve Jobs packed a lot of living into his 56 years. If his career had ended 30 years ago, he still would have made history for helping popularize the personal computer. But he did so much more than that. As we all know, Jobs defied F. Scott Fitzgerald’s famous quote, “There are no second acts…
Life is like a multiplex, there are many movies/stories playing at the same time. you can either be the one watching someone else’s movie and follow hs/her footsteps or star in your own where everything you do is unique and amazing. One thing is for sure, you cannot be a side-actor in your own movie, you have to be the star of the movie, only then would you find happiness, which will then lead to success (subjective term - still trying to figure out my meaning of it). Learning to live life the Steve Jobs way - I didn’t know steve jobs personally but he has left a huge vaccum which will be difficult to fill.He was a mentor who taught me that you don’t have to put conditions and compromises to your dreams; it will happen if you follow your heart. I’m trying to do exactly that. The greatest lesson he taught me was:- Lesson 1: “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” - Steve Jobs I may be whiny, moody, loud, pessimistic and a lot of other things which may annoy people most of the times but there are also a lot of things i’m not. Lesson 2 : “I’m as proud of what I don’t do as I am of what I do.” - Steve Jobs Lot of people tell me that i’m always complaining, nagging and talking about how sub-standard things are; i don’t do this to gain attention, be different or make an issue out of everything. I do this simply to make everyone around me believe that there can be no compromise on quality in whatever we do in life. Lesson 3: “Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected.” - Steve Jobs Lesson 4: “Almost everything–all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure–these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.” I don’t know how to put it better so i’ll just paste the speech verbatim:- “Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” May your soul rest in peace From a die-hard fan who never used an APPLE product but will soon buy one :-)
